Credit & Billing Policy

This Credit & Billing Policy ("Policy") governs the use of credits, billing, and payment-related features within RabbitHoles AI ("Software"), operated by Lokus LLC. This Policy supplements our general Terms of Use.


1. Credit System Overview

RabbitHoles AI uses a credit-based system to meter usage of AI features. Credits are denominated in U.S. dollars and stored as integer cents internally for precision.

1.1 Types of Credits

Your account has two distinct credit pools:

When you use AI features, credits are always deducted in the following order:

  1. Included Credits are consumed first
  2. Wallet Credits are consumed only after included credits are exhausted

This ensures your purchased credits are preserved as long as possible.


2. Included Credits

2.1 Monthly Reset

Included credits reset to your plan's base amount at the start of each billing cycle. The reset amount varies by billing interval:

Unused included credits do not roll over to the next billing period. Any remaining included credits at the end of a billing cycle are forfeited.

3.1 Signup Grants

New accounts may receive a one-time promotional credit grant ("Signup Grant") added to the wallet upon registration. Signup grants:

3.2 Purchased Credits (Top-Ups)

Users on eligible plans may purchase additional credits ("Top-Ups") to add to their wallet balance.

3.2.1 No Expiration

Purchased credits do not expire. Once added to your wallet, they remain available until used.

3.2.2 Non-Refundable

Purchased credits are non-refundable except as required by applicable law. All top-up purchases are final.

3.2.3 Non-Transferable

Purchased credits cannot be transferred between accounts, teams, or users.

3.2.4 Pricing

Top-up pricing is displayed at the time of purchase. We reserve the right to change top-up pricing at any time; however, changes will not affect credits already purchased.


4. Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

4.1 BYOK Overview

Certain plans allow you to connect your own API keys from supported AI providers ("BYOK"). When BYOK is enabled and a valid API key is configured:

BYOK functionality is available only on plans that explicitly include this feature. Check your plan details for BYOK eligibility.

When using BYOK, you are solely responsible for:

If your API key is invalid, expired, or rate-limited, the system may fall back to standard credit-based billing.


5. Usage Metering

5.1 Reservation Model

For AI chat and generation features, we use a reservation-based billing model:

  1. Reservation: Before processing a request, we reserve an estimated amount from your available credits
  2. Processing: Your request is processed by the AI provider
  3. Settlement: After completion, we calculate the actual cost and adjust your balance accordingly, releasing any unused reservation

5.2 Cost Calculation

Usage costs are determined by:

  1. Actual cost reported by the AI provider (when available)
  2. Token-based pricing calculation (as fallback)

Costs are converted to integer cents using standard rounding.

5.3 Failed Requests

If a request fails or is cancelled before completion, any reserved credits are released back to your balance.

Exceeding plan limits may result in service restrictions until the next billing cycle or until you upgrade your plan.


9. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
